Candidate for Sheriff 2022, retired Captain Kevin Jensen responds to the recent news regarding the Civil Grand Jury’s recommendation against the Sheriff:
"What has transpired for so long has caused much pain. Our community deserves so much better. My voice joined many other courageous voices over the past 10 years in calling for positive change.
I look forward to regaining the trust of our community by leading the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office to a culture in which everyone receives exceptional service and fair treatment from ethical public servants."
Captain Jensen is a 28-year veteran of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office who has led a wide range of administrative, operational and tactical positions. These include serving as the Assistant Chief of the Department of Correction, the Elmwood Detention Facility Commander, Jail Administrative Commander, Stanford DPS Liaison and served as the Risk Program Manager for California’s state-wide Urban Area Security Initiatives, a critical public safety component tasked with assisting with the prevention of terrorist acts as well as mitigation, response and recovery. Captain Jensen holds a Masters’ Degree in Leadership and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
