SAN JOSE CA – February 22, 2022 – “Santa Clara County Correctional Peace Officers Association (SCCPOA) Endorses Candidate Kevin Jensen for Sheriff.”
“On February 22, 2022, the Santa Clara County Correctional Peace Officers Association (SCCPOA) endorsed former Captain Kevin Jensen for Sheriff of Santa Clara County. The Santa Clara County Correctional Peace Officers Association represents one of the largest law enforcement unions in the Bay Area. To quote James Webb VP of the Santa Clara County Correctional Peace Officers Association
"It was extremely important that the candidates share our core values and code of ethics" Together we can strive for a better tomorrow. James Webb introduced Kevin by stating, “This candidate not only has the knowledge and experience necessary to be a great leader but also has demonstrated a passion for community involvement.”
In his response to the Santa Clara County Correctional Peace Officers Association endorsement, Kevin Jensen stated, “I want to thank everyone who is concerned about the people who work in the jails but also the people who are in the jails. I started in 1985 working alongside the many men and women in this very tough environment. It’s our job to take care of the people inside the jails, keeping them safe while keeping society safe. I know that I’m the right leader to make this a national model. I’m grateful for the support and being part of making the necessary changes to create a safe work environment for everyone. I’m honored to receive this endorsement.”
Captain Jensen is a 28-year veteran of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office who has served in many Executive Management and Management positions and a wide range of administrative, operational and tactical positions. These include serving in Patrol, Courts, Assistant Chief of the Department of Correction, the Elmwood Detention Facility Commander, Jail Administrative Commander, Stanford DPS Liaison and served as the Risk Program Manager for California’s state-wide Urban Area Security Initiatives, a critical public safety component tasked with assisting with the prevention of terrorist acts as well as mitigation, response and recovery. Captain Jensen holds a Masters’ Degree in Leadership, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
