ANTHONY E. ZUIKER

Creator of the TV phenomenon CSI

"I have known Kevin Jensen for over 3 decades. There is no one more qualified to lead the department to positive change.  He has been a true partner to our County’s Law Enforcement agencies and communities - serving with excellence from his many positions in management and executive management at the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. I look forward to working with Kevin whose reputation for integrity and collaboration are a welcome addition to our public servants team."

- Honorable Patrick Nikolai, Chief of Police City of Santa Clara

"We need leadership in Santa Clara County that understands the complex issues faced by Victims of Crime.   Kevin Jensen has demonstrated integrity as well as effective decision making in the often tumultuous field of law enforcement. "

- Teresa A. Reagle: California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Division of Adult Institutions,

Regional Director, Retired.

"I endorse Kevin Jensen for Sheriff because he has the necessary public safety skills to protect and care for the citizens of Santa Clara County.  More importantly, he will bring a common-sense leadership philosophy along with genuine compassion for all people no matter what side of the law you find yourself on.  Kevin will bring the much-needed business changes in policing and corrections while treating people fairly and with respect. "

- Skip Shervington, S.C.C.O Assistant Sheriff

"At all levels of our government we need leaders that will lead and manage with strength and resolve to make our institutions beyond reproach.  The Deputies that work the streets every day need to know that their Sheriff will support them without hesitation but to also know that they will be corrected if they step out of line.  Everyone wants to work for a leader that will forge a path to success, a leader that will tell you what the plan is and then stick with it.   We need a leader that has the necessary humility and demonstrated accountability with a mind for solutions to lead such an important organization that affects the lives of so many.  Over many years at the Sheriff’s Office, I watched Kevin lead with all of these attributes and more.  He is the right person at the right time to lead our Sheriff’s Office.  He has earned our vote and our support to be the next Sheriff for Santa Clara County.."

- Frank Dutra, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, Reserve Commander (Ret.)

More Personal Endorsements

I have know Kevin for over 15 years. A true law enforcement professional in the areas of training, education, and experience. Santa Clara county will be best served by Kevin Jensen as Sheriff with his many years in the public safety arena.

- Robert J. Silano, Director, Board Vice President Menlo Park Fire Protection District

I have known, and worked with, Kevin since he started with the Sheriff's Department. Our career paths often intersected and I have always known him to be a man of integrity and honor. I think highly enough of Kevin that I served as the Director of Operations on his previous campaign. At that time we talked about how to turn the Sheriff's Department around from the mismanagement that it was forced to operate under. Eight years have not improved that situation, and quite possibly it is worse than it was but Kevin Jensen is still the best person to make those changes. He will engage all stakeholders including the sworn and non-sworn employees, other law enforcement agencies, other entities within County government, community organizations, groups that represent incarcerated persons and their families, mental health advocates and the citizens of Santa Clara County.

- Ted Atlas, Sergeant, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office (Ret.)

"I was born and raised in Santa Clara County. This community is witnessing a leader not capable of properly running the Sheriff Office. The Jails are a constant source of failure and in addition to the impact to the lives of those it has harmed, this is a huge drain on our county government and the community is demanding a change. Kevin as what it takes to bring a much needed change in leadership to the Sheriff's Office and specifically the jail system. He is a collaborator and leader with the full understanding on how the Sheriff department operates, mostly where to immediately direct the changes to bring solutions and integrity back to the Sheriff's Office. He is a man of exceptional character and a proven leader in law enforcement"

- Brian Rauschhuber, Campaign Manager, Kevin Jensen for Sheriff 2022

“I have known Kevin Jensen for over 10 years. He is an ethical and principled person and has the relevant experience and know-how Santa Clara County needs to lead the Sheriff's Office. I whole-heartedly support Kevin Jensen for Sheriff.”

- Jessica Nowaski, Deputy Police Chief, Mountain View Police Department (ret.)

"I support Kevin because the officers on the front lines in Santa Clara County do. I believe it is important for officers who risk their lives every day to have faith in their leadership and right now they don't have that."

- Chris Carroll, CEO Copenbarger & Copenbarger LLP.

Cheif Scot Smithee 2017 (V) 8x10c.JPG

“I have worked with Kevin Jensen for over 20 years on County wide committees and training.  He has consistently demonstrated a desire to help others while maintaining the highest level of integrity. He wants to be our next Santa Clara County Sheriff for all the right reasons.  He places the needs of others above his own and is driven to make a positive difference in our communities.  I know him well, and he has earned my respect.  Please support Kevin in his bid to by our next Sheriff. “

The above is a photo of Kevin and I (Catherine Wayne) when we participated in a Law Enforcement Torch run to support the Special Olympics.

"My name is Catherine Wayne and I retired from the California Highway Patrol after more than 27 years of service in which all my time was spent in the Bay Area. The last 4 years of my career I spent as the Commander of the San Jose Area which included Santa Clara County. During that time, I met Kevin Jensen at an FBI National Academy training luncheon and was immediately impressed with his enthusiasm, insight, and his vision of the Law Enforcement Profession. Since that meeting, we have continued to maintain a professional relationship over the years, and I consider him a friend. Kevin and I share many of the same leadership perspectives which includes, trust, accountability, integrity, and the crucial importance of collaboration within your agency, other agencies, and the community we serve. When Kevin left the Sheriff’s Department in 2013, he was a highly respected and trusted servant in the community.

Kevin’s passion to honorable service of others is one of his greatest attributes. Most of the issues which have plagued and tarnished the Law Enforcement profession has been a direct result of a lack of strong leadership skills at all levels. Having the ability to rebuild trust within agencies and communities, takes a leader with a new vision and a heart-felt passion to serve those who have entrusted them. I strongly believe that Kevin would be the Sheriff who could lead the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department and the community in a new direction of excellence, compassion, and quality of service it expects and deserves.

- Catherine Wayne - Commander, California Highway Patrol (Ret.)

"Kevin Jensen epitomizes the leadership necessary to create powerful collaborations between law enforcement and communities affected by addiction and incarceration. Thanks to Kevin and others like him in law enforcement, I went from being a drug-addicted person engaged in criminal activity, to being recognized by the FBI Director with one of the Bureau’s highest awards for community service. Kevin’s integrity and support is and has been critical in my personal transformation—from drain on society, to service to society."

- Ed Kressy, Author/Speaker, 2018 recipient of FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award

“I have had the privilege to work with and know Kevin Jensen for over 30 years. Through the years, Kevin has always been true to himself, and strong in his beliefs. He is regarded by many with much respect and support because of his unwavering integrity, dedication, compassion and experience.  His commitment to inclusivity and unity leaves no doubt that Kevin Jensen will serve the Office of the Sheriff, the community and county of Santa Clara with great honor and leadership.”

- Blanca Hoyt - Captain, Santa Clara Co. Sheriff’s Office (ret.)

"Kevin has a long history of public and private action in support of our community when it engages in the criminal justice system. Having worked with him on issues for incarcerated women and families of domestic violence, Kevin brings a commitment and equity lens to the work he takes on and is a bridge builder between diverse perspectives and community.

"Having known and worked with Kevin over the course of 18 years, his commitment to being a bridge builder and his common sense approach to the criminal justice process is what we need at a time when the public trust needs to be restored with law enforcement. My support of him is because Kevin walks the talk and is the type of leader we need for today."

- Esther Peralez-Dieckmann, Silicon Valley Community Leader

"These critical and challenging times that our communities and law enforcement agencies face require open and honorable leadership. On that promotes positive collaboration, compassion, and accountability to all. Kevin Jensen, who I'm proud to call a friend and brother, is the person who can deliver on that promise."

- Johnny Costa, Palo Alto P.D. Sgt, Retired

I have known Kevin Jensen for over six years and, in that time, we have worked together on multiple projects and through numerous challenges. For two of the six years that I have known Kevin, he was the President, FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBINCAAA) Board of Directors and I served as his Executive Director.

I observed Kevin as he successfully handled the responsibilities associated with managing nearly 60 individual FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association chapters with a total of nearly 20,000 members.  These chapters are spread across the United States from Puerto Rico to Alaska and Massachusetts to California, as well as chapters in Hawaii and on the Island of Guam.  During Kevin’s presidency, he led multiple chapters out of major internal conflicts and introduced a balanced approach to problem resolution.  Kevin displayed the unique ability to withhold any definitive judgement until he has heard and weighed all the evidence.  Kevin does not make snap judgements.  He has the exceptional ability to work through issues objectively and never allows his personal opinions enter into the equation.  Truth is all that matters to Kevin Jensen.

A major component of Kevin’s responsibilities was daily interface with FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC.  Through his frequent contacts with senior FBI personnel, he gained their trust and admiration for his straightforward management style and uncompromising dedication to the rule of law.

Kevin is one of the most courageous individuals I have ever met.  He does not compromise with the truth and is impervious to political pressures.  The FBINCAAA Board was so impressed with Kevin’s flawless tenure as President that they presented him with a statue of a frontier sheriff.  The inscription on the plaque read: “Do the Right Thing...No Matter What.”  That inscription says everything anyone has to know about my good friend and brother-in-arms, Kevin Jensen.  He will ALWAYS do the right thing...no matter what.  He has my unequivocal endorsement for Sheriff.
